How to create stunning drum tracks with Bfd3 library and its new features

Also, is it OK to have subfolders in the Presets and Grooves folders? I like to group the presets by name. So, for example, my Groove Monkee files go in their own folder, which has further subfolders for each library (like Rock, Country, Blues, whatever). Seems to work and I hate having all presets sitting in one folder making it difficult to see what I have.

Bfd3 library

I have mine set up on an SSD with a master folder called BFD Drums, inside that folder are my other libraries in their own folders so I have BFD3 Core library, 8 Bit Kit, BFD Delux Kit, BFD Jazz Noir, and so on.

The all-new BFD3 library is designed to provide a diverse range of drum sounds out of the box. Recorded by engineers including Andrew Scheps, Rail Jon Rogut and John Emrich, it features brush and mallet sounds and is recorded in 2 rooms for varied room ambience.

With detail levels of up to 80 velocity layers, rim-clicks and rim-shots for toms and bells and splashes for hihats, BFD3's sounds are more expressive than ever before. The library's 160GB of audio data is squeezed into 55GB thanks to BFD3's lossless compression system meaning less space usage and playback strain on your hard disk.

Virtually Erskine Grooves is a BFD Groove Pack with over 400 patterns played by legendary drummer Peter Erskine. Although intended to accompany the BFD Virtually Erskine expansion pack, the included Grooves can be used with any kits from any library in your BFD3, BFD Eco or BFD2 installation to enhance your productions with Peter's precise and incredibly funky drumming.

The issue we see with many users is that they have a voluminous library of drum samples, that over many years may have grown and possibly even developed corrupt files, or unlicensed files which, in some cases can cause BFD to crash on startup, or have trouble finding your content.

Some highlights include a new high detail 7-kit library, tom resonance, and spill modeling, cymbal swell modeling, and a new and more flexible interface with easier sound-browsing and an extendable width window. Parts of the kit can be tweaked more deeply, with much-improved damping, dynamics, and humanization functions.

Overall, kit loading times are comparable to those in BFD2. However, please bear in mind that BFD3's library features more articulations and audio channels. The BFD3 library is compressed on disk in a lossless format, so data is quicker to load from disk.

BFD3's library is stored in a proprietary lossless compressed audio format, meaning that it consumes less disk space and resources when being streamed during playback. The CPU load for the decompression process is insignificant.

Zone data: The zone's data that results from its operations. You can store zone data in a local library, iSCSI or SAN storage library. For zone migration, store the zone data in an iSCSI or SAN storage library.

Metadata: The zone's metadata is the configuration of the zone's operating system, CPU, memory, and network. You can store metadata in a local library or in a NAS library. For zone migration, store the metadata in a NAS storage library.

With this configuration, you can add the zone to a server pool and use the zone migration feature.
